Morning Man Classic: John F. Kennedy Jr.
He was the son of a president, a magazine publisher and once named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.”
He is, of course, the late John F. Kennedy Jr., who like his father died far too soon. Today would have been his 61st birthday.
It’s been more than 20 years since he died in a plane crash at the age of 39, just four years after he founded George, a glossy politics-as-lifestyle monthly which sometimes took editorial aim even at members of his own family.
JFK Jr. was a graduate of Brown University and New York University School of Law and famously failed the bar exam twice before finally passing. He then worked as a prosecutor in the Manhattan district attorney’s office for four years.
He was quite the ladies man dating Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna and Darryl Hannah before marrying Carolyn Bessette in 1996. She was among those killed when the plane he was flying crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Martha’s Vinyard.
We’ll never know what could have been in store for him.

Richard Vestal says:
He was truly the Sexest Man Alive.
Steven Klick says:
I think he will always be the perfect man to me-he inherited all of the best qualities from his mom and dad. Its tragic to hear/read that his marriage to Caroline was troubled-they also looked like the perfect couple. At 61, he would still look great-he would’ve aged well. I don’t think GEORGE was a hit magazine and I don’t think it continued beyond his untimely death but it was a bold endeavor that credibly personified “more than a pretty face”.
Did he die heading out to Martha’s Vineyard to celebrate Thanksgiving? Is that why you chose to punish this today?
I had no idea he dated SJP. I think Madonna was a weekend affair, but Daryl Hannah dated him for quite some time, there was speculation that she was the one.
