Monday Morning Man: Benjamin Patterson!

So yesterday I found myself watching a Lifetime movie called Dear Secret Santa (Don’t judge me!).

This gorgeous guy had a small role as a cop but he was a gay cop so I quickly looked him up and found out he is Benjamin Patterson, an actor who is openly gay in real life.

‘Growing up I dated girls, but I thought guys were hot, too,’ he recently told Huffington Post.

‘Although I never really acted on it until later, I was raised in a very diverse neighborhood, so same sex couples were something that I was used to. I knew pretty early on that I found both sexes attractive, but I never thought that I was bisexual because I knew that I would end up with one person ultimately. To me, there is a huge grey area between the attraction to men and women, and where you see yourself is up to you. Just as long as you are happy.’

Benjamin is one of the stars of the new OWN series Greenleaf on which he plays the role of Noah Kendal.

Noah’s Arc fans will remember Benjamin in the role of Guy and he also played the role of Jay in the series Friends & Lovers.

He has also done guest spots on Grey’s Anatomy and CSI: Miami.

Benjamin and husband Mike have been together for 15 years and earlier this year became the parents of a baby son named Zachary who was born via surrogacy with Benjamin the biological father..
