Melissa Rivers has hired a law firm to look into the death of her legendary mother Joan Rivers

It’s not known if Melissa Rivers will be filing a wrongful death lawsuit in the Sept 4 death of her mother, Joan Rivers.

But she is laying the groundwork for the possibility.

Rivers has hired a law firm to look into Joan’s death which occurred after a throat procedure.

“In order to fully determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family,” Ben Rubinowitz, a partner at Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz, said in a statement Tuesday.
