Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels settle

After nearly nine years together and two children, Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels had been engaged in one of the ugliest same-sex celebrity couple splits in history.

On Tuesday, the former couple settled their differences and reached a financial and custody agreement.

TMZ.com reports that the women will share custody of their twins – daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller Steven – and that Michaels will receive monthly support that is a higher amount than the $23,000 she had previously been receiving.
