Fight like hell for what you believe in, for people, never back down, be brave and courageous, be kind, look people in the eye, don’t look away from pain. My mom once told my sister and I “You ain’t shit because you’re good at sports. You will stand up for yourselves, for each other, and for other people, always.” I can only hope to as influential to other people as my Mom was to me. Thank you @time for this incredible honor. And thank you @kirstengillibrand for your kind and thoughtful words .
