Meet Victor Webster, the hunky actor who will play the gay character on the new “Melrose Place”

Well, here I am in Pasadena covering some of what is left of the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. Today is NBC”s day to give everyone a taste of its new fall shows while yesterday was the CW network.

I wasn’t here for CW and the introduction of the new Melrose Place but AfterElton.com editor Michael Jensen was. Good thing. He cornered MP’s executive producer Todd Slavkin to ask about Caleb, the show’s gay character and Slavkin confirmed the role is going to be played by the oh-so hunky Victor Webster.

Hey, I loved Doug Savant as the gay Matt on the first Melrose Place but Matt was portrayed as kind of bland and never seemed to get any action. How can Webster’s Caleb, looking like that, be anything but a sexpot?

I’d like to encourage the writers to make Caleb the town slut to make up for how chaste Matt’s love life was the first time around. I know, I know, that’s not being a good gay role model but hey, it sure would make ya watch!
