Matt Bomer wins People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Actor – thanks fans, cast and family

What a great day for Matt Bomer.

First we learn that HBO will be making the movie about Montgomery Clift starring Matt then he wins the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Actor.

Love it.

Matt won for White Collar which ended its six season run on USA Network in November.

‘What an incredible thing to have happen at the end of a series,’ he told the audience at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

He thanked husband Simon Halls and their three sons for their support as he commuted from their LA home to  New York City where the show was filmed.

Bomer thanked the shows fans for their staunch support: ‘Thank you for standing by this show… You taught me so much about love and commitment and acceptance over the years and I love you for it. Thank you so much for this. It’s amazing!’

The icing on the cake would be for Matt to add to his trophy collection with a Golden Globe Award on Sunday for his heartbreaking performance in The Normal Heart. I was stunned he did not win the Emmy but a Globe win would be nice – and well-deserved.
