Matt Bomer is “Da Man”
A reader posted a comment recently saying something about being sick of seeing Matt Bomer on this site.
To each his own but I don’t understand how anyone could get sick of someone who is not only ridiculously handsome and talented, but also thoughtful, articulate and involved in an array of interesting projects.
Anyway, Matt is on the cover of the magazine Da Man and it includes a really nice fashion spread as well as a good Q&A.
Bomer, who is raising three children with longtime partner Simon Halls, was asked how the heck he stays sane in Hollywood.
“Having a life outside of the business that grounds you. For me, it’s my family. They always come first, and always will. But it doesn’t have to be exclusive to family. There are lots of things that keep the business in perspective. We’re very blessed to be able to tell stories. It’s an essential way for humankind to understand itself: who we are, where we come from, where we could be going, what we’re capable of. But at the end of the day, if you’re not living a life outside of the business, you’re going to run out of things to bring to the table.”
Matt is best known for the hit TV series White Collar but he also made a feature film splash last summer in the box office smash Magic Mike. He’s got other films in the can and more ahead.
He tells Da Man: “I just finished a small part in a film called Winter’s Tale It’s a magical realism piece that centers around the love story between Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay. It also stars Jennifer Connelly, Russell Crowe, and Will Smith. Earlier this fall, I worked on a film called Space Station 76, with Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson. When I put down the script, I thought ‘I’ve never read or seen anything like this before. It defies genre.’ And it also felt completely relatable and human. It’s like a humorous John Cheever short story set in a 1970’s version of outer space. It’s about a lot of people who are stuck in a life that they don’t want, and are trying their best to find a way out of it. ”
In April, I go back to season 5 of White Collar. And then I film The Normal Heart, which is about the early days of the AIDS epidemic in New York, and the people who were brave enough to risk their lives and careers to bring much needed attention to it. It’s a testament to passion and unconditional love.

It’s the sad gay jealous gene. I see it all the time, especially on the popular gay blogs. Matt’s rare combination of qualities is tough for those who are insecure in their own lives. Couple that with the fact that he breaks that old sad gay stereotype mold most of us had to grew up with, doubly tough for the insecure. Just watched him play football again this year in the pre-superbowl event. He is so refreshing in so many ways. Glad there is a new kind of role model in town! Wish his type were around when I was young.

I’m of the opinion that one can NEVER get too much of Matt Bomer. He is a rising star and he deserves all the positive press he can get. In addition to being drop-dead gorgeous, he is sexy, intelligent, caring, compassionate and most of all, HUMBLE. He’s a loving father and partner. He is not cocky or arrogant like so many of the Hollywood elite. It’s about time people take note of his acting abilities and of the many charitable organizations he supports. He is an inspiration to me and to all of the Bomer Babes who worship the ground he walks on. Keep up the good work, Greg!

There can NEVER be enough of Matt Bomer! I adore him like no other. When I found out about him and began to research him, he became more than just a ‘pretty face’ to me. He is eloquently spoken, polite, always composed, professional, talented, non-judgemental, and no matter what obstacles arise, he forages ahead without a care in the world. He grabs life by the horns and tells you how it is. He is funny gorgeous and extremely talented and is the most humble of actors I have ever seen. I cannot find one single thing that I do not love about this man. He has changed my life (literally) for the better. He exudes happiness and joy, as well as confidence and has a zest for life. He is able to balance his family and career like no other and I believe he deserves more recognition than he has. He is a very versatile actor and I will read and watch anything that Matt Bomer is involved in. I love him THAT much! He is appreciated THAT much! Before he came along in my life, I had a dark cloud above me. Now that same cloud is lifting and Matt is responsible for that. I just wish he knew just how much he has postively affected people (as well as myself) and how many people he has brought together–I have met MANY lovely women because of this Beautiful man—he is simply a breath of fresh air in today’s society! We can all learn a thing or two from this man. I wish him nothing but the best–in whatever he chooses to do. I am 100% a Matt Bomer fan! Forever a Bomer fan!

Matt Bomer is the ultimate role model, we should all use him as an example of how to view the world. He acts every parts he has with such enthusiasm and skill, he supports organizations and causes that we should all be supporting and he uses his own experiences to make life just a little easier for those who find it difficult to find a way forward.

I think people mostly adore Matt cos of his looks, they don’t really know his personality, quite frankly! And it’s always pleasant to look at good looking people as they look refreshing. He is a public man now and he knows exactly what he is doing. If he is nice, he will be liked by everyone. I’m a fan of Matt’s because of his looks and charm mostly and yes he is good in White Collar but yet again he is just a rising star and has a long career ahead. Don’t really care if he is gay or not, purely his choice. Think it’s kind of fashionable to be gay these days, isn’t it? Reckon Simon is helping with his BF image in the media which is normal. Matt seems humble and not arrogant which is a beautiful quality and makes him likeable. Would every women date Matt? Hmmm not sure about that, let’s not generalise but certainly many would. The fact that he is gay or straight doesn’t make much difference, not that he is available either way anyway. What we can all learn from Matt though is that being nice, kind and charming pays off, hence something we should all aspire for. Overall, Matt seems lovely, so def best of luck to him!
