Matt Baume presents: “The Inside Story of All in the Family: The Rise, Fall, and Afterlife of the Bunkers”
Hi Honey, I’m Homo author Matt Baume premiered this terrific video yesterday that I watched in its entirety last night. It’s all about All in the Family, one of the most controversial shows ever broadcast. It featured a typical American family, arguing over topics that most other shows didn’t dare go near, and shocked America as well as the network executives who tried to do everything they could to stop it. But while Archie, Edith, Mike, and Gloria were busy making TV history, behind-the-scenes feuds threatened to tear the cast apart — culminating in off-screen fights that nearly led to the death of two beloved characters. This is the story of All in the Family and the Bunkers — the rise and fall and rise again a family that changed America.

This was posted elsewhere and I watched it.
What a great job done by Matt B. in putting it together. A lot of behind the scenes on how the show, over the years, influenced the public discourse during its run. Even a president makes sure a nation’s address would not interrupt the regularly scheduled program of All In The Family. The spin-offs the show created and Norman’s tactic of using stage actors to fill out the show.
I encourage your readers to give it a watch. They will come away with a greater appreciation of the show.
