Hi all!

Sorry for my erratic blogging schedule lately. Internet problems, friend in from out of town, Emmys etc. Have I given you enough excuse?

Okay, back to work.

SHE’S BAAAAAAAACK! I love this bit of news. Justine Henin, who inexplicably retired from the women’s tennis tour in the spring of 2008, announced today that she is returning to the women’s tour which has sorely missed her.

Justine was number one on the world when she retired and vowed her decision was for good.  She was the three-time defending champion at the French Open when she quit and also the reigning US Open champion. In her absence, there has been a revolving door of number one players, most of whom have not been the caliber of Henin or most of the previous top players.

Still only 27,. Henin said she just missed the game too much.

“The fire within burns again,”Justine said at a press conference. “I want to come back in January.”

You gotta wonder if her announcement has anytbing to do with the fact that her fellow Belgian player, Kim Clisters, returned ladt month after a more than two-year break and won the US Open.

“Subconsciously, it might have had an impact,” Henin said of Clijsters’ successful comeback. “But it certainly was not the most important reason.”

Henin is aplayer who can handle Serena Williams at the sport’s grand slam tournaments which could result in Serena giving more of a full effort during the year and the resumption of their rivalry will be very good for the game.

http://www.thepostgameshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/glee.jpgGLEEFUL NEWS: FOX announced today that it has committed to a full season of the new series Glee, the gayest show on network television.

It focuses on a fictional high school glee club in Lima, Ohio.

The network had committed to 13 episodes and now has ordered what is known as “the back nine.” That means a full-season of 22 episodes of this delicious show that stars Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch, among others.

Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly added that the response to “Glee” has been “remarkable.” “I’ve seen all 13 episodes and … they’ve knocked our socks off.”

Creator Ryan Murphy told the LA Tines: “It’s fantastic to be the first show picked up, and that this underdog series, like its characters, will get the chance to keep singing. There are so many more stories to tell.”

The Wednesday night series premiered to FOX’s highest numbers for a new scripted show in three years.

Out United States Congressman Barney Frank has been in the news even more than usual lately. He appeared on The Jay Leno Show last night. Here is his appearance. Enjoy!
