Believe it or not, last night’s American Music Awards were not ALL about Adam Lambert!

Before he closed the show with his controversial performance, many things happened like poor Jennifer Lopez falling during her performance (the spill looks to be edited a bit in this video – sorry!); Janet Jackson’s opening number which was a tribute to her late brother who won four awards posthumously; Mary J. Blige who I think gave the best performance of the night when she sang I Am Extreme. Just an extremely talented singer doing her thing without all the dancers and special effects; Lady Gaga sang Bad Romance and Speechless and Whitney Houston cemented her comeback with a stirring performance of I Didn’t Know My Own Strength, a song that is clearly autobiographical.
