Lunch Break Videos: Emmy Award speeches from Sally Field, Sarah Jessica Parker and Holland Taylor

http://www.insidesocal.com/outinhollywood/,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,sally.jpgSally Field won the third Emmy of her career, this time in the category of lead actress in a drama series, for her role in Brothers & Sisters. Her speech set off a firestorm of controversy because she said if women were running things, “there wouldn’t be any more goddam wars!”

When Sally came back to chat with the press, she was asked about the controversy her speech had already caused since Fox had censored it on the telecast. Already a veteran of award show ridicule following her “You like me!” Oscar speech, she was already very zen about it and seemed not to care what anybody thought anymore.

She’s earned that!

Sarah Jessica Parker did not win the outstanding actress in a comedy Emmy until her final season on Sex and the City. Her competition included past winner Jennifer Aniston who attended with then-hubby Brad Pitt.

I loved when Holland Taylor won the supporting actress in a drama series Emmy for The Practice. Her speech was classic, starting when she got on stage and said: “I’m so glad I wrote something … I’m just so sorry I can’t see it.”
