Lunch Break Video: See Joan Rivers first appearance on “The Tonight Show” since 1986!

Well, Joan Rivers returned to The Tonight Show last night for the first time since 1986 and what a classy touch by host Jimmy Fallon to show a photo from her first appearance with Johnny Carson.

He acknowledged her long connection to a show that she appeared on frequently for more than 20 years and was at one point the permanent guest host for Carson.

At 80, Rivers showed that she is still cutting edge and actually quite gutter-mouthed!

I always thought Joan was best when she was self-deprecating but she’s a bit over the top here.

Still, great to have her back!

BONUS VIDEO: See Joan’s very last appearance with Carson in 1986 – she dressed the same as she did on her first appearance in 1965. Joan was on to promote her book Enter Talking. The chemistry and the timing between Joan and Johnny was legendary and it is so sad things ended the way they did later that year when Joan left to do her own show on Fox. Johnny felt betrayed and never spoke to her again.
