Lunch Break Video: Rosie O’Donnell really was a terrific Betty Rubble in “The Flintstones”

Rosie O’Donnell isn’t making many movies anymore. But before she turned to television and now radio, she was a pretty busy movie actress with roles in A League of Our Own, Sleepless in Seattle, Another Stakeout, Beautiful Girls and, best of all, 1994’s The Flintstones.

Rosie would not seem an obvious choice to play Betty Rubble but she had the most perfect Betty giggle, had the perfect hair for the part and seemed to trim down to pull off the little Betty outfit.

I actually liked this movie and thought Elizabeth Perkins was a terrific Wilma. It was also the final feature film role for Elizabeth Taylor who played Wilma’s mother Pearl Slaghoople.
