Lunch Break Video: On Valerie Harper’s birthday, let’s enjoy some moments of her as Rhoda Morgenstern

Yesterday, I was recovering from my class reunion and spent the afternoon with my dad.

I dug through my DVDs and decided to put in a disc from season 2 of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and we watched a handful of episodes from this all-time classic.

We found ourselves cracking up time and time again over lines from Mary’s neighbor and BFF Rhoda Morgenstern who was played by Valerie Harper.

Today, the four-time Emmy winner turns 72 and she is still going strong. She was nominated for a Tony Award  for the play Looped and played Teri Hatcher’s aunt in a recent episode of Desperate Housewives.

Below are some moments of Miss Harper as Rhoda, a role she played for four years on The Mary Tyler Moore Show followed by five years on her own spinoff which was simply called, Rhoda.
