Lunch Break Video: Diana Ross appears on “Oprah” and brings five children & first grandchild along!
It’s well known that one of Oprah Winfrey’s early role models was Diana Ross.
When Oprah was 10 years old and watched Diana perform with The Supremes for the first time on The Ed Sullivan Show, she knew that she wanted to do something special with her life.
So it was always special whenever Diana appeared on Oprah’s show. Last Friday’s appearance was a real lovefest and what was especially nice was the appreciation Miss Ross showed for Oprah even singing the tearful host a special tribute.
Miss Ross (she likes to be called that but does not insist on it she told Oprah) has been called a diva and all the rest over the years but her talent cannot be denied and it has not diminished after more than 45 years of stardom.
She has no plans to retire at this point but admits that she would stop performing “If my voice changed. If I couldn’t sound like myself, I wouldn’t want to perform.”
Yes, she’s had 18 number one singles and was nominated for an Academy Award for Lady Sings the Blues but her greatest accomplishment is clearly her five children who appeared on Oprah too. All appear to adore their mother and a few are famous in their own right: actress Tracee Ellis Ross (Girlfriends) and actor-singer Evan Ross.

Jeff says:
Diana Ross was amazing. I think the public doesn’t talk about her enough. She is truly a star above many that are in the industry today. Someone should pay her a billion dollars to do another major movie. I still think she has alot more to give.
Damon says:
