Lunch Break Video: Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin team up in “A Prairie Home Companion”
It’s kind of astonishing how talented Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin are individually. To have them share the screen as sisters in A Prairie Home Companion is just mind-boggling.
Meryl has occasionally sung in movies including Postcards From the Edge, Death Becomes Her and Ironweed but Prairie was her most musical film until 2008’s Mamma Mia where she sang and danced with wonderful abandon.
Streep and Tomlin sing the gorgeous numbers My Minnesota Home and Goodbye to Mama in the videos below. If’s an unlikely pairing- and a wonderful one.
