Lunch Break Video: Lily Tomlin (as Ernestine) gives Cher a ringy-dingy
Don’t ya just love Lily Tomlin?
A six-time Emmy winner, two-time Tony winner and also the recipient of a Grammy, she’s is brilliant and has had audiences laughing since her first television appearance way back in 1965 on The Merv Griffin Show.
One of her best-known characters is that of the wisecracking, snorting telephone operator Ernestine who became very familiar to viewers through Rowen and Martin’s Laugh In. She won her Grammy for a collection of Ernestine routines called This is a Recording.
