Darryl Dragon, who turns 69 today, teamed with with Toni Tennille for a long string of hits in the 70s including Love Will Keep Us Together, Muskrat Love, Do That To Me One More Time, Shop Around, The Way That I Want to Touch You, Lonely Night and Can’t Stop Dancin’.
Darryl is unable to perform now because of of a neurological condition that causes tremors. Let’s enjoy some of the hits of Captain & Tennille.

I don’t know if mmost people know it but Toni Tennille could have been a Cabaret singer on her own if she’d wanted to. She put put out an album similar to Linda Ronstandt with Nelson Riddle. I saw her live in performance amd her singing of these songs was terrific.

Oh wow thanks for posting those old videos! I was (and still am) a big fan of The Captain and Tennille. I really think she had one of the best voices ever- along with Karen Carpenter of course. Sorry to hear that Daryl has that neurological problem. It must be awful for him not to be able to play. He was literally born into music as the son of the famed bandleader Carmen Dragon and might be one of the best and most innovative keyboard players ever. Happy birthday Captain.
