Lunch Break Video: “I Love Lucy” Friday: Lucy & Ethel fight losing battle at chocolate factory

Just watched this clip again and, as always, was thoroughly entertained. Is there any show that holds up as well as I Love Lucy? This is stuff made more than 50 years ago!

This classic scene is from the “Job Switching” episode when Lucy and Ethel go out and get jobs and Ricky and Fred become homemakers. The girls end up at a candy factory and it it is not going well. Lucy was in the dipping department but got in a big chocolate fight with the dipper sitting next to her. Meanwhile, Ethel was booted from the packaging department because “I kept pinching them to see what flavor they were.”

Now they are in the wrapping department and have to wrap each and every piece of chocolate that comes across on an increasingly faster conveyer belt. The sight of Lucille Ball stuffing the chocolates in her cheeks and sown her blouse is just HYSTERICAL!

Love it!
