Lunch Break Video – I Love Lucy Friday! All hell breaks loose when “Lucy Learns to Drive”
Let’s kick off 2010 with one of my all-time I Love Lucy scenes from the episode Lucy Learns to Drive.
The Ricardos and Mertzes have bought a car to drive to California where Ricky is going to make a movie. Lucy wants to share in the driving so gets a lesson from her Cuban hubby and it does not go well. Then later, we see the absolute brilliance of Lucille Ball when describes to Ethel (Vivian Vance) how a car pulled up alongside her … “and no one was driving.”

What is Sad that if that show was on today, Ricky would not have been able to buy Lucy a new Pontiac, because Pontiac is DEAD.

Do you have any idea how rich Fred and Ethel would have been if they still own that building in Manhattan?

one last thing, is Lucy on the show, didn’t know how to drive and I’ve read that Lucille enjoyed driving and alway drove way too fast and was upset when she couldn’t drive herself.
