Lunch Break Video: Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow go “Cruisin'” in the movie “Duets”

Huey Lewis seemed an unlikely choice to play Gwyneth Paltrow’s dad in the movie Duets. I mean, who even knew he could act! But he acted just fine and, of course, he sang even better. But the real revelation was Gwyneth’s lovely voice and how well it blended with Huey’s on the song Cruisin’.

This movie was directed by Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth’s late dad, and was to have co-starred Brad Pitt, her then-fiancee. They broke up before filming and things got delayed a few years. Pitt’s role was eventually played bt Scott Speedman.
