I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed watching these clips from the 1980 TV special Goldie and Liza Together. I remember watching it when I was a teenager and falling asleep after the first few numbers and never seeing it again until finding it on YouTube.

Oscar winners Goldie Hawn and Liza Minnelli were given a real showcase for their considerable talents and these clips show them singing, doing comedy and serious drama. There was a time when the two were going to star in a feature film version of Chicago but it’s a pity it never came to pass. It’s also a pity that Goldie seems to have lost interest in making movies with her most recent film being 2002’s The Banger Sisters.

But at least we still have 2009 Tony winner and Grammy nominee Liza to enjoy!
