Lunch Break Video: Barbra Streisand sings her heart out in her remake of “A Star is Born”

http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/bestselling-music-2006/1940-1.jpgWhen Barbra Streisand decided to star in a remake of A Star is Born, the critics were not kind.

I can’t day that the 1976 film co-starring Kris Kristofferson was great, but it was well-worth watching for the music alone. I had the soundtrack in LP form then and on CD now and love, love, love it.

Here are videos of some of the numbers starting with Woman in the Moon followed by I Believe in Love. These songs come near the beginning of the film when Streisand;’s character of Esther Hoffman is still unknown. Hubby John Howard fakes being too loaded to perform at his own concert so she can step in instead. The hostile crowd is immediately taken with her and she soars once she realizes it was John’s plan all along.

The final number is very romantic and sweet. It’s the Oscar and Grammy winning song Evergreen co-written by Miss Streisand.
