Lunch Break Video: Mitt Romney’s awkward encounter with gay veteran on campaign trail
This video is several months old but it has resurfaced and gone viral.
Mitt Romney met a 63-year-old veteran named Bob Garon during a campaign stop tour in New Hampshire back in December 2011 and thought it would just be a quick photo opportunity.
Garon asked Romney whether he supported the repeal of the New Hampshire same-sex marriage law. Romney replied he believes marriage should only be legal between a man and a woman.
Garon responded: ‘It’s good to know how you feel, that you do not believe everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights.’
Romney replied: ‘No actually, I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear marriage was between a man and a woman.’ One of his campaign aides said they needed to ‘get going’ to a Fox News interview.
As Romney left, Garon said he appreciated Romney’s answer and added: ‘I learned something, New Hampshire is right, you have to look a man in the eye to get a good answer and you know what governor? Good luck. You’re going to need it.’
Garon was then besieged by reporters, who asked him whether Romney’s response to his question had changed his political views.
‘I went and fought for my country and I think my spouse should be entitled to the same [benefits as they would] if I were married to a woman,’ he said. ‘What the hell is the difference?’

Mitt Romney a Republican nominee for the President of the United States tells Bob a Vietnam Veteran that he instead served his church. But Mitt fails to mention that it was in…Paris…of all the threatening environments. It seems that he was trying to convert Parisians to Moronism.
This is such a disturbing little find it REALLY shows the unfiltered Mitt! This needs to make the blog rounds.
No question the man is a cardboard cut out of a man pure…bullshit!

I loved this when I watched this earlier in the year. Romney looked at this military vet and thought he was safe. Instead he got his magic underwear ass handed to him on a plate. Priceless.
