Lunch Break Video: A heartfelt Emmy speech from Barbara Stanwyck and moving tribute to Ann-Margaret
The legendary Barbara Stanwyck won the Emmy in 1984 for her memorable performance in the miniseries The Thorn Birds.
It was a well-deserved triumph – especially for the scene when she attempted to seduce Richard Chamberlain.
But many people thought it was going to be Ann-Margaret’s year for Who Will Love My Children?
The classy Stanwyck paid an amazing tribute to her fellow nominee in her speech: “I think she gave one of the finest, most beautiful performances I have ever seen. Ann-Margaret, you were superb.”

I shouldn’t forget to give Ms Stanwyck her dues too! Ruby was one the most precious gems Hollywood ever gave us.
