Thank you, my dear Mark Sendroff for arranging the tickets and for being my date. I LOVED the way this story was told. Brilliantly crafted exposition. It was funny, compassionate, truthful, illuminating, thought provoking and stunning to look at Bob Mackie, you truly ARE the master of shape, color, style and making people look like their very best self. This show is as much a tribute to you as the very deserving Cher. (How anyone could have thought of ever trying to do this without you!) Emily Skinner as Cher’s mother, (AND mine) was vibrant and vital and the gals who play younger Cher- Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond (Broadway debut!!!??) wipe the floor with every number they sing. Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, the beautiful woman who did the “Dark Lady” tango solo and her male partners stopped my heart and the show. Chris Gattelli – your choreography just gets more and more astonishing. Am I going on and on? You bet. And I still haven’t told you everything. I has a smile on my face for so long my face hurt. I can’t remember the last time I was so moved or applaud like that. And in the middle of the show, I got a chill as it suddenly occurred to me that the very first time I felt this watching a musical was in that very theatre (then The Alvin) when I was 9 years old watching my mother in WILDCAT. And the best goes on……….. Thank you to EVERYONE who gave their 180% at The Cher Show tonight.
