Listen to a pastor’s horrifying advice: beat your son if he acts feminine, make your daughter feminine if she’s butch
Oh God, this is about the most sickening thing I’ve come across in awhile.
So we wonder why gay or transgender kids want to kill themselves?
It’s because of people like Sean Harris, senior pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Fayettesville, North Carolina.
Harris should be banned from his church for advocating violence against children who may not fit into the gender roles their parents would like them to.
He said during his Sunday sermon: “So your little son starts to act a little girlish when he is four years old and instead of squashing that like a cockroach and saying, ‘Man up, son, get that dress off you and get outside and dig a ditch, because that is what boys do,’ you get out the camera and you start taking pictures of Johnny acting like a female and then you upload it to YouTube and everybody laughs about it and the next thing you know, this dude, this kid is acting out childhood fantasies that should have been squashed.’
No one booed, no one protested. They just laughed nervously.
He had more to say: “Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male. And when your daughter starts acting too butch, you reign her in. And you say, ‘Oh, no, sweetheart. You can play sports. Play them to the glory of God. But sometimes you are going to act like a girl and walk like a girl and talk like a girl and smell like a girl and that means you are going to be beautiful. You are going to be attractive. You are going to dress yourself up.'”
In case parents in attendance thought the pastor’s advice was too extreme, he assured them it is not: You say, “Can I take charge like that as a parent?” Yeah, you can. You are authorized. I just gave you a special dispensation this morning to do that.”

From a professional standpoint, I would suggest that this man be watched for his potential toward child abuse. I would question how safe a child of either sex might be with him alone.

Be sure to check out the church’s homepage. They have another anti-gay rant on the main page that is unrelated to this. This church also seems to have a school associated as well.

Omg, I am disgusted and very concerned for the authority of some Christian churches (especially in the south) and if I were there for that sermon I would then go report him to the law inforcement. This man is CLEARLY off his rocker and needs to either be thrown in a mental institution or get a taste of his own medicine.
