It’s official: Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have split up (at least for now)

You gotta figure this is just one chapter in what will probably be many break-ups and make-ups. But earlier today, Lindsay Lohan confirmed what had been rumored all weekend: she and DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson have split up. Lindsay told E! News: “We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.”

Uh, isn’t that pretty much already the case?

The drama had reached fever–pitch with Lindsay barred from a Ronson family event then a locksmith seen leaving Samantha’s home where Lindsay had been living.

If it’s true love, I hope they work it out.

Lindsay is just 22 years old and I am rooting for her. Her career has nose-dived with her latest film, Labor Pains going straight to cable. So if she’s serious about focusing on herself, why doesn’t she do a low-key play in LA or New York to sharpen her chops?

Just get out of the headlines kid.
