Laverne Cox missed GLAAD Media Awards due to filming but shines spotlight on trans attendees

Some of the amazing trans talent in attendance at the #GLAADAwards last night airing on Logo Thursday night at 10pm. Here we have actresses, writers, skilled musicians, a celebrated visual artist. A producer, models, an Olympic athlete, visionaries and so much more. There are forces trying to erase us, stigmatize us, criminalize us, silence our voices, disavow our identities but these folks are finding ways to survive and in some cases thrive and to give back in spite of all that. Let's give trans talent a shot. Let's get more of us in more rooms, more seats at more tables, not just because we are trans but because we are excellent, because we will deliver. More of the amazing trans talent in attendance at the #GLAADAwards last night airing on Logo Thursday night at 10pm. Here we have actors, writers, a director, musicians, singers, a surgeon, an attorney, models, social media influencer, visionaries and so much more. I also want to celebrate all the Trans folks in the room last night not included in these posts and @glaad for making sure trans folks were in the room and on the stage last night. It was not so long ago that trans folks couldn't be visible, openly trans and thrive. For far too long we have had to live in the shadows. There are still trans folks all over America and the world who still feel they have to live in the shadows, that our loves are threatened when we choose to live visibly. There are forces trying to erase us, stigmatize us, criminalize us, silence our voices, disavow our identities but these folks are finding ways to survive and in some cases thrive and to give back in spite of all that. Let's give trans talent a shot. Let's get more of us in more rooms, more seats at more tables, not just because we are trans but because we are excellent, because we will deliver.
