View this post on Instagram Single and loving on myself. I have been thinking a lot lately about whether or not my image and the things I post promote unrealistic beauty standards. That's the last thing I would want to do. Then I think about being a kid in Alabama dreaming of becoming the woman of my dreams. That seemed impossible. And sometimes I give myself a pool moment like this one in front of my cellphone and I realize I have become the woman of my dreams and I want to celebrate her. I am 47 years old and I have been through a lot in my life as so many of us have. I am so much more than the way I look. But I want to look back and say I lived my life to the fullest and worked it while I had it. I also want to celebrate folks of every gender identity, size, shape, ability, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, owning and loving who you are today in this moment cause this moment is all we have. It's not about looking like or doing it like Laverne Cox. It's about looking like and doing it like you.
