Latest on Novak Djokovic saga Down Under
When Novak Djokovic lost in the final of the US Open last September, it cost him a very rare grand slam (winning all four majors in the same calendar year) and a chance to be definitively declared the greatest male player of all time as he would have won his 21st grand slam title and broke a three-way tie with arch-rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
But for the first time in his career, Novak had won the adoration and respect of the crowd. He had been far more accustomed to being the villain beating the beloved Rafa and Roger.
But that goodwill is being destroyed with each passing day in Australia where Novak is involved in a legal battle to be able to play in the Australian Open which begins on Monday. He’s a nine-time champion at the event but he is in a mess of his own making.

FAEN says:
This is a debacle and the Tennis Australia and the government are making it worse by letting Novaxx play. If he weren’t a celebrity he would have been deported already and probably banned from entering for a few years given that he lied on his visa application.
