Late Night Video: Star Jones returns to “The View”

I’m just watching this now and I think it’s a major FAIL on Barbara Walters‘ part. Why invite Star Jones back on The View after six years and rehash her messy departure, in detail, just a few seconds after she sits down?

But that’s what Walters insists on doing. Reminding everyone that Star’s contract was not renewed etc. Good grief.

“Do we care at this point my sister?” Star asked as Walters began.

Awkward.

Barbara wants everyone to know that she and producers wanted to protect Star and blah, blah, blah. They still were dumping her!

Said Star of her departure and why she surprised everyone by announcing it herself on the air instead of letting producers control it: “It was ugly. Everything around was ugly. It just was not a good emotional time. … I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms, I wanted to go out on my own terms.’

‘I had eight fantastic years here – one eh.’
