Late Night Video: See Carol Burnett be presented with the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award
My absolute favorite part of Saturday night’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards was the life achievement award going to the great Carol Burnett.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were, of course, their brilliant selves at paying tribute to a national treasure and also bringing audience members Michael Keaton and Leonardo DiCaprio in on the fun.
What I love most is the look on the faces of the people in the audience during the standing ovation.
That’s what you call beloved.

It was a terrific honor for a wonderful person!! If any of you guys have never seen the movie “Pete & Tillie,” I highly recommend it. Carol was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance. I go all the way back to Carol being on the Garry Moore Show, and I’ve loved her ever since. It’s kind of sad to see her getting old, but, hell…we all are, myself included! Carol’s acceptance speech, and how beautifully she handles herself, brought tears to my eyes.
