Late Night Video: Sally Field on Daniel Day-Lewis texting her in character as Abraham Lincoln
Sally Field’s best leading role in a feature film in many years is in the current release Hello, My Name is Doris which is just terrific. She clearly can still carry a film as she proved decades ago on her way to winning Academy Awards for Norma Rae and Places in the Heart. Her most recent Oscar nod came a few years back in the film Lincoln in which she played First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln opposite Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th president.Miss Field revealed a few nights ago on Late Night With Seth Meyers that Day-Lewis was so immersed in his role that he would text Sally in character as Abe. ‘I found that not odd in the slightest bit,’ she tells Seth.
