Lance Bass reveals plan to have kids: “Growing up in the South, it’s all about family”
Lance Bass, who plans to marry Michael Turchin next fall, wants to be a dad.
“All my friends basically did a baby pack and all had babies this year,” Bass told Good Morning America this week. “I definitely have always dreamed of that. Growing up in the South, it’s all about family…”
But don’t expect the kids right away.
“We want to enjoy being a married couple for a couple years, but not wait too long. I don’t want to be too old. We have a little five-year plan. Plus, my friends are all having babies right now, so it would be amazing to watch them all grow up together.”
Will they go the surrogacy route? Adopt?
“I would love to have a kid of my own, I would love to have [Michael] have a kid, and maybe even eventually adopt a kid who couldn’t find a home,” he says.
What kind of parents will they be?
“We’re going to give our kids the world. So, they get to choose whatever they want to be. We are going to introduce them to every single thing they could possibly be introduced to and we’ll see what they like. If they want to become a singer, I’ll definitely support that, although I’ll tell them every negative thing to talk them out of it, because it’s a hard, hard world.”

Just by being an appealing individual, with an appealing fiancee, who plans to get married and have children, as so many people around the world are planning to do, Lance Bass is advancing the cause of gay right. People look at at the two of them, and both sympathize and empathize with them. That makes the general public more likely to support gay rights, gay marriage and gay families.

I’m happy for you Lance but FYI, families are just as important even if you don’t live in the South.
