Lance Bass and Michael Turchin are married!
Lance Bass is a very happy man today – the day he married Michael Turchin.
Lance tweets: “Today I marry the man of my dreams. He makes me smile; he makes my heart melt; he makes me….me.”
Here are some excerpts from tonight’s article in The New York Times:
Lance Bass and Michael Turchin were married Saturday night at the Legendary Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, where 300 guests gathered. Jamie-Lynn Sigler officiated with JoAnna Garcia Swisher; the two actresses, friends of the couple, became Universal Life ministers for the event.
Mr. Bass, 35, the singer, actor, producer and writer, is a former member of the band ‘N Sync. He hosts “Dirty Pop With Lance Bass” on SiriusXM satellite radio. He has recently become a special correspondent for TV’s “Entertainment Tonight,” and is writing a show for the E! network called “The Machine,” which will focus on pop culture.
Mr. Bass and Mr. Turchin, both given away by their mothers, were wed under a canopy in honor of Mr. Turchin’s Jewish heritage. They decided to abandon the tradition of being surrounded by a wedding party and chose instead to ask four models, clad in ivory dresses, to mimic flower girls. Friends walked the couple’s three dogs down the aisle.
Mr. Bass and Mr. Turchin met about four years ago at a birthday party in Palm Springs, Calif. “We spent an hour or more talking, then he hit me up on Facebook as younger people do,” Mr. Bass said. “We were attracted and became best friends before anything got romantic.”
Each man remembers that moment differently. Mr. Bass believed that Mr. Turchin kissed him first, but Mr. Turchin said it was the musician who made the move. “Lance makes me laugh 20 times a day,” Mr. Turchin said. “We support each other and travel everywhere together.”
Mr. Bass agreed: “We never fight and remain best friends. I need him by my side forever.”
For the couple’s first dance at the wedding, J. C. Chasez, a former member of ‘N Sync, sang Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Kelly Price, the R & B singer, also performed.
