LA Gay & Lesbian Center’s LifeWorks throwing block party on Paramount Studios Backlot Saturday!
One of my favorite events in June is the big Life Out Loud block party thrown to benefit the A Gay & Lesbian Center’s LifeWorks Mentoring program.
Lifeworks offers one on one, peer and group mentoring opportunities for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth ages 14-24 and has had so many success stories.
It’s a cause I very much believe in but I have to miss this year’s event at the Paramount Studios Backlot (on the historic New York Street) because it takes place at exactly the same time on Saturday (June 23) as my mom’s 75th birthday party which I wouldn’t dare miss even if I weren’t the emcee!
But that doesn’t mean you should miss this year’s event where Bully director Lee Hirsch (pictured above) and LifeWorks member Justin Charles Gonzales will be recognized with Courage Awards.
Live entertainment will be provided by Savannah Robinson, Eye of Newt Circus and Cortés Alexander and the Swell Girls.
The party takes place from 4-8 p.m. and general admission tickets are a bargain at $100 each. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit lagaycenter.org/lifeoutloud
