“Kill Your Darlings” starring Daniel Radcliffe as gay beat generation poet Allen Ginsberg is out on DVD today
Before the release of Kill Your Darlings last year, there was so much talk in interviews about the gay love scenes that I was expecting some really hot stuff.
No so much.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not a fine film worth seeing!
Harry Potter alum Daniel Radcliffe gets a meaty role as gay beat generation poet Allen Ginsberg. The story is about the college days of some of the earliest members of the Beat Generation, their interactions, and a killing that took place.
The cast is top-notch and includes an outstanding Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr, the always good Ben Foster as William S. Burroughs, Dexter himself Michael C. Hall is a very different kind of role – a murder victim.
The film, directed by John Krokidas, is out on DVD today.
