Kevin Alejandro has been cast on HBO’s “True Blood” as the sexy love interest for Lafayette

The good thing about already having an entire season of the cop drama Southland in the can already is that cast members like Kevin Alejandro can do stints on other shows – in this case, HBO’s True Blood.

Alejandro, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will appear in almost every episode of the vampire drama’s third season as Jesus Velasquez, an orderly taking care of Ruby Jean Reynolds (Alfre Woodard) at her care facility. He soon becomes involved with her son, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis).

Alejandro is familiar to Ugly Betty fans as the father of Justin who was killed in a liquor store robbery just as he was finally connecting with his son.

As for Southland, NBC canceled the show before it even aired the first episode of its second season but the show was picked up by TNT which begins airing it on Jan. 12. The cable network will then let ratings decide whether to order more new episodes.
