Kathy Griffin’s book out today!

Can’t wait to sit by the pool and read Kathy Griffin’s new book from cover to cover.
Even though she has been sharing parts of her life with us for so many years now, it seems there is still a lot more to discover between the covers of her memoir, Official Book Club Selection, which went on sale today.
An interview she gave to Entertainment Tonight shows that no topic is off limits.
“I knew that I had to go for it,” Kathy tells Mark Steines “I really thought there’s no point in writing the book if you’re going to hold back.”
Kathy reflects on growing up under the same roof as a pedophile — her late, older brother Kenny.
“My brother Kenny had an extremely profound impact on me,” she says, revealing that when she was a child, he would say “sexually inappropriate” things to her.
Kathy says that in adulthood, Kenny beat his wife, was “in and out of jail” and spiraled into to drug addiction before he died.
“It sort of shapes the way you see the world, for me,” she says. “In a way, it maybe even contributed to me having a pretty dark sense of humor, because I think when you have someone like that in your house, one of the things you learn is, you’ve got to laugh.”
