Kathy Griffin to take over for Joan Rivers on Fashion Police: “These are some big shoes I’m going to fill”

It’s official: Kathy Griffin will take over for Joan Rivers on Fashion Police.

We know Kathy’s name was floated immediately after Joan’s death but she downplayed it at that time.

It was too soon.

But life goes on and you get the feeling Joan would totally approve of the choice since the two funny ladies were real friends and had dinner together in Westwood just a few weeks before Joan died.

The show will return to the air on January 12 to critique the fashions worn at the Golden Globe Awards.

‘I get it! These are some big shoes I’m going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind,’ Kathy said in a statement.

‘Now I hope you will accept me for me. I’m just Kathy. Did I say I’m just Kathy? I meant I’m Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let’s have some fun!’

Kathy will not be the only new face on the show. Also joining returning panelists Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic is celebrity stylist and television personality Brad Goreski of the Bravo reality series It’s A Brad Brad World.

Melissa Rivers, executive producer of the show, said: Kathy just feels right, and Brad brings a fun, new voice to join Giuliana and Kelly in this ensemble. I’m excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation.’

The series will air 17 episodes throughout year.
