Kathy Griffin calls into Craig Ferguson’s show to talk about the CNN New Year’s controversy
Leave it to Craig Ferguson to get try and get to the bottom of all the hoopla over whether or not Kathy Griffin got into hot water for dropping an f-bomb during CNN’s live New Year’s Eve broadcast with Anderson Cooper.
The D-lister is in New York filming an episode of Law & Order SVU and took a call from Craig on whose show she appeared on just a few weeks ago.
Kathy said she now is “really on my best freaking behavior – it’s killing me!”
Craig asks if there is any truth to her being banned and Kathy said: “I don’t know if I got canned. I don’t feel I’ve really done a job well until I get fired.”
Griffin was trying to pronounce the name of Falcon Heene, the 6-year-old child at the center of the “Balloon Boy” scandal and said: “Fal- Fuc****? Falcon? How do you say it?”
Cooper, who laughed at Griffin’s humor throughout the broadcast, shook his head and said: “You’re terrible. Really terrible.”
“It was really, I think, a miscommunication,” she told Ferguson. “I was amused by how, if you watched the worldwide coverage of [the Balloon Boy] story, you can hear his first name pronounced in many different ways.”
She ended up being bleeped three times during her explanation and explained: “It’s like what Shakespeare did. I’m a wordsmith.”
