Adam Lambert kicked off 2010 by performing 10 songs from his debut album For Your Entertainment in front of nearly 5,000 people at Gridlock’s New Year’s Eve Bash in Hollywood (he’s pictured with evening’s hostess Pamela Anderson).

Does this mean we will finally stop talking about his controversial performance at the American Music Awards in November? Of course not!

In today’s Los Angeles Times, fellow American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee – out promoting her album Unbroken – was asked her opinion of Lambert and here’s what the newly-blonde singer had to say:

“I think he probably got a little ahead of himself at the American Music Awards,” McPhee said. “I’m not knocking him for what he did, I just think he should have done it a year down the road when he’s more established as an artist and not just an “Idol.” You have to be cognizent of your place in the business … but it’s hard when you come off that show and you’re the biggest thing since sliced bread, and every0ne’s doing everything for you. You lose perspective so you have to be careful.”
