Totally loved Drew Droege & company in musical mash-up parody “I Totally Know What You Did Last Donna Summer”

Love seeing shows at The Cavern Club Celebrity Theatre (also known as the basement of the Casita Del Campo restaurant in Silver Lake) and have seen some really good ones over the years from all of the Chico’s Angels installments to PRAIRIE-OKE to Julie Brown’s Homecoming Queen Got a Musical.

Now I can add a new all-time fave to my experiences there: I Totally Know What You Did Last Donna Summer directed by Dane Whitlock who also wrote the show with Amy Procacci who is in the cast – and very funny.

This is a new musical mash-up parody slasher musical tied together by the music of the late, great Donna Summer. It involves a group of teens, a murder, a cover-up, and lots of surprises.

It is such a hoot!

I’ve seen star Drew Droege in many live shows but this is one of my absolute favorites (I’ll probably say that after his next show too). He’s just brilliantly funny and has such great timing and confidence and enthusiasm.

As a local TV reporter covering the escape of a serial killer, Drew can even turn a flubbed line into a whole new hilarious moment and his quick-witted reactions to what is going on around him is pure genius.

The rest of the cast includes Libby Baker, Matt Herrman, Sydney Blair, Joe Donohoe, Frances Chewning, Erik Scott Romney and Mark Rowe.

They are all first-rate from their purposely over-the-top reactions to all that is going on around them to their singing and dancing of such Summer hits as MacArthur Park, Bad Girls, She Works Hard for the Money, Heaven Knows, On the Radio and Love to Love You Baby, among others.

Congrats to all involved. And congrats to you if you can get a ticket to this show during its one month run! I’m told the show is sold out this weekend and almost sold out next weekend too. But there’s about 10 or so tickets available for walk ups before each performance.

You can order tickets HERE.
