Judge rules Melissa Etheridge can take kids on concert tour over objections of Tammy Lynn Michaels

My parents may have divorced each other when I was 9 – and again when I was 20 (yeah, really) but they never fought over how to raise me or my five siblings.

As parents, they were on the same page.

So it’s really sad to see that exes Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels, who have two kids together, constantly fighting over their kids and other matters.

Tammy went to court to try and stop Melissa from taking their kids out on tour with her. TMZ.com reports that Tammy has lost this round with a judge on Aug. 30 giving her the go-ahead.

Michaels, an actress best known for her role on the series Popular, had filed court papers in Los Angeles to try and stop the Etheridge. She was most concerned with the 6 year olds being exposed to topless groupies and marijuana.

In the court documents, Tammy claimed ‘many female fans remove their shirts and bras and throw them on stage.’ She also stated that when Etheridge performs ‘there is use of marijuana on the tour bus and in the dressing rooms.’

The former couple split in 2010.

Etheridge has seven dates left in her current tour so exposure to boobs and pot should be minimal.

One Remark

  1. I wouldn’t call this situation a “fight” because a fight requires two willing parties. All I have seen of this situation is Tammy bullying Melissa with publicity stunts to try to ruin her reputation, and Melissa doing interviews saying kind and gracious things about Tammy as a mother. It’s really sad but I do believe that Melissa understands that Tammy is fighting only with herself and Melissa is being smart by standing back, dodging the punches, and waiting for the clock to run out. It’s been what, three years? Hang in there, girl.
