Jonathan Groff on being in “Hamilton” on Broadway: ‘It’s like a drug coming out there every night’

One of my BFFs, Danny, was in NYC recently and posted on Facebook that he had just seen the smash Broadway show Hamilton. Without even thinking about it, I typed in the comment: ‘You bitch!’

You could say I was just a little envious.

One of the show’s stars is Jonathan Groff who provides comic relief in his role as King George III. He appeared on Charlie Rose this week and talked about the experience.

‘It’s like a drug coming out there every night,’ he says. ‘It’s so amazing to be breathing in the air of the Hamilton experience.’

In the second clip, Jonathan talks about how the show evolved during its two month run Off-Broadway at The Public Theater where ‘the show wanted to explode out of the theater.’
