John Barrowman speaks out on not being asked to participate in “Dr. Who” 50th anniversary special

My pal Jim Halterman, who writes for the site formerly known as AfterElton.com, sat down with John Barrowman this week to chat about his role on Arrow and guest spot on Scandal.

But the most burning topic on the minds of John’s legions of fans are why the heck Capt. Jack Harkness himself was not asked to participate in the Dr. Who 50th Anniversary special.

Here is some of what John told Jim for the site now known as The Backlot: “…I will tell you point blank I was not asked. And I don’t say that because I’m going “I was not asked. Boo hoo.” I was not asked. Arrow said I could go and do it if I was asked. They gave me the time off. So if anybody’s saying it was because of my work commitment, they’re telling you bullshit. It was nothing to do with my work commitment.”
