Joan Rivers on Betty White: “That old bitch has come back from the dead and is taking it all!”
The one and only Joan Rivers gave a very candid interview to Rage Magazine this month which I found most enjoyable.
Thought I’d share some excerpts with you starting with Joan being asked who she’d like to see play her in a biopic: “I hope it’d be someone beautiful like Scarlett Johansson, but with my luck it’d be Betty White. That old bitch has come back from the dead and is taking it all! We’re all so upset!”
Joan is also asked how many plastic surgeries she’s had: “I have no idea because I didn’t do big ones. I always do teensy-weensy ones where you could literally walk out of the doctor’s office and be on stage the next day. Several times I’ve said, ‘can you just fix this?’ Can we just do a little something here or there?’ That’s the way people should do it. I mean, seriously, you polish your car every day. You vacuum your rug don’t you? So why not take care of your face if you can?”
She shares with readers her philosophy on life: “Laughter is my way of life and I handle things through humor. God gave us humor and that’s what life is about. Humor lifts our spirits and it pushes you forward. That’s how I do it and if other people don’t like it, then they can go kill themselves. I’m not interested!”
In response to that comment, Joan was asked about making jokes about the suicide of her husband Edgar Rosenberg. I was very interested in her answer because I lost one of my closest friends to suicide in 2009 and her words here actually are of great help.
“The fact is, it was one of the major knocks of my life, and also the cause of one of my emotional growth spurts. I learned that I could be on my own and have a new way of life. But the guilt never goes away. Still, it’s important for people who are suicide survivors to know no matter what anybody thinks or says, they had nothing to do with it. I’ve worked very hard with suicide survivors. Anybody who’s a survivor needs to understand that if they were going to do it, then they were going to do it no matter what.”

I don’t think Joan has ever topped her “What Becomes a Semi-Legend Most” album from the 70s. I played that record to shreds. Now that I see her & Betty together, there just might be a connection…could they be twins?

I think her humour on that point leaves a bit to be desired.

I could almost accept Joan for Her pitiful philosophy about going to the Dr. with the knive ~ if she didn’t posess the filthy mouth, off the wall remarks and cussing.. she is a deep down sociopath and will never have the Grace that some older gals have. She will never age Gracefully! The slash mouth is not nice at all! I would surely become nauseous at the sight of her privates.. I would not touch her with a 30 foot pole!! Even if was the last woman? on Earth!
Take a hike,Joaniee!& please not on my path!
