Jimmy Kimmel asks Sean Hayes if Will & Grace would be coming back if cast hadn’t aged so well
Jimmy Kimmel thinks the cast of Will & Grace who reunited last fall for a Hillary Clinton campaign spot looking as good – if not better – than they ever did.
But he wonders if the reunion would have led to a revival of the classic series if one of the four main stars – Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes or Megan Mullally – had not aged well in the more than 11 years since the series left the air.
‘I wonder if one of you was a mess now, if one of you had put on like 85 pounds – if the whole thing would have been called off,’ Kimmel said to Hayes who was a guest on his late night talk show Wednesday.
‘If you all got fat it’d be fine, it’d be like America in a way.’
Hayes joked: ‘We left looking like the cast of Saved By the Bell and we returned looking like the cast of Cocoon.’
Will & Grace ran on NBC from 1998 through 2006 and all four stars won Emmys during that time.
The cast reunited last fall to do a mini episode in support of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
The video went viral and last month NBC announced the show would be returning for a ninth season with 10 new episodes.
